Along with the ASEAN-India summit, PM Modi along with ten ASEAN leaders released a set of commemorative stamps featuring Ramayana on 26 Jan 2018. It is also to commemorate the silver jubilee of ASEAN-India partnership. PM Modi said "The Ramayana, the ancient Indian epic, continues to be a valuable
shared legacy in ASEAN and the Indian subcontinent. We have organised a
Ramayana Festival with troupes from ASEAN countries, to showcase our
common cultural treasure through this great epic."
Ramayana, Yama Zatdaw in Burmese, is also well known play and true legacy. But the illustration used on the stamp for Yama Zatdaw is wrong. It is not from Yama Zatdaw , but the theatrical performance of the Mon dance.
