Pantamault (The Art of Stone Sculpturing)

Due to the COVID-19 situations, the planned stamp are delayed to release. Initially the Art of Patamault stamp was planned to issue on 26 Oct (unofficially) and postponed to 30 Nov.  Also it was issued together with the Art of Panpoot stamp.


The art of Pantamault is the art of stone sculpturing which makes Buddha images out of stones or marble. The artisans also make the pillar, elephant, and stone tablets. The most famous artworks of Pantamault art are Tipitaka tablets at Kuthodaw Pagoda, Myinkapa plaques portraying the 550 Buddhist birth-stories and Kyauktawgyi Buddha image at the foot of Mandalay hill.
