Panyun (The Art of Making Lacquerware)

 Last stamp in the Art series is the Art of Panyun stamp.


The art of Panyun is the art of making lacquerware using bamboo, wood and thick black varnish. The artisans produce alms food bowl, drinking cup, betel box, bowl of pickled tea leaves and more. The lacquerwares are decorated with gold or colourful drawings. Most famous lacquerware from Myanmar are produced in Bagan.
